Magazine Interviews JPJ Owner About Growing Demand for Faux Rock

MCMINNVILLE, OR. - Concrete Décor Magazine interviewed JPJ Owner Jim Jenkins about the versatility that faux rock offers and the growing commercial demand for it.

Jenkins told the magazine that three decades ago faux rock mainly went into water installations. Now, he said synthetic rock is used for a growing number of creative uses including covering a pipe in a backyard, casting outdoor patio furniture, jazzing up a security installation at a military base and giving an outdoor kitchen the look of limestone.

“The demand for this type of training is just growing by leaps and bounds,” Jenkins told the magazine. “The demand for synthetic rocks is high. If you just do waterfalls and rock, you’re missing the mark on possible sales”.

Faux rock can even replace the labor-intensive work of stone artesian, Jenkins continued. “We've taken the artistry out of it. A good mason can only do so many square feet a day.”
